Peace... I hope everybody had a great New Years and rang in the New Year safely. I spent it jivin' out in Hollywood but that's neither here nor there. If you don't know me well, very well and only one or three people do then you do not know that I am really into art. I use art in very general terms. The art I speak of ranges from painting to drawing to photography to writing to acting to music, pretty much all things that express ones self and have some meaning behind them. I attempt to create art all the time as an artist I am mostly self taught except for writing, I guess, seeing as though my degree is in English and I am currently pursuing my graduate degrees in English Lit. I do dabble in photography and I draw and paint very often. My drawings and paintings are in exercise in catharsis as well as a way to fully express myself. If one was ever to see a drawing or painting of mine it would look like a bunch of randomness because for the most part it is. Most of the time my work represents an emptying of the contents of my mind at that given time. I deem it an exercise in catharsis because words, sentences, phrases, images, scenes, etc. often get stuck in my mind and need to be released. Think about when you have a song or commercial in your head, the only to get it out of your head is to hear that song or watch that commercial. When the aforementioned things get stuck in my mind, to write or draw or paint them down is how I release them from my mind. I attempt to put some kind of order to the contents of my mind as I release them but it doesn't always work. I have had a few things stuck up there for a over a day now and I decided to release them and this is what they looked like upon release:

Some of the things that I like I will use in future works but this process you see happens daily. Works like the above are reader response works, you see an arrow and that has a different significance to you than it does me, same for the trident, the volcano and the basketball hoop. When you see the words tragic or graceful the first thought that enters your head and the first thought that enters my head are different, hence the reader response. I have a few things in the works like: a deck and some shoes which I will share upon completion but I wanted to share my process with whomever is listening so that you get the idea. Leaving the way that I greet... Peace
